wind turbine
Ever wondered how much electricity could be produced from a wind turbine in your backyard, in the parking lot of the company, or somewhere else? I know I have.
A new application for the iPhone from Danish wind energy giant Vestas I can say exactly that.
The application time Vestas know where your iPhone, of course, and based on that information to calculate the amount of energy one of its 3MW turbines V112 (yes, one of its newer products) would generate and the amount of dioxide keep carbon out of the atmosphere.
The application is only for the iPhone, and iPod touch IPAD at the moment but is supposed to be coming to Android and Windows phones soon.
Details on how to Vestas Wind application works:
own meteorology department of Vestas in Plant Location and Welfare, constantly monitors and analyzes the global climate in public databases and sensors in more than 40,000 turbines worldwide.
Vestas is now also using this to offer the public detailed weather forecasts based on the specific GPS coordinates to your mobile phone. To begin with, application, or application is only for the iPhone, iPod touch and IPAD.
The estimates of Vestas is one of the best in the world with a resolution of only 3 km. The forecast is calculated on the supercomputer in Vestas Technology R & Ds based in Denmark. The forecast models are run, maintained and tested internally by meteorologists on the ground Situation and Welfare.
The application is free. The main objective, of course, is to get people and businesses to purchase wind turbines (3MW turbines Vestas V112, in particular).
However, the truth is that this could be really useful, or at least interesting, to many people.
“It’s pretty simple. We have so much knowledge we can share with the general public in a manner consistent with our product and our brand. This application provides useful information for the end user and at the same time, we can promote the wind,” says Lars Chr. Christensen, vice president for Plant Location and prognosis in R & D. Vestas Technology
application of good-looking, and free. If I had an iPhone would be doing well now.
